In an incredible opportunity to collaborate with the iconic Field Museum, Journeyman has created a Gin, Vodka, and Rye in celebration of the museums 125th anniversary. Journeyman set out to honor the museum and Chicago's history by utilizing ingredients that were introduced at the 1893 World’s Columbian Exposition in Chicago - the same year the museum originated. Using the distilleries most awarded and bestselling Last Feather Rye as the core ingredient for the Field Rye Journeyman distillers then macerated one of the world’s oldest sweeteners the Black Mission Fig. Resting in the Last Feather Rye for more than three months the Black Mission Fig imparts subtle all-natural and complimentary flavors of sweet melon, banana, and strawberry to the spicy and fruity characteristics of the Rye.
Proving that often times the best things are made from the simplest ingredients this flavored Rye reflects the amazing history of the Field Museum and the City of Chicago. Take a step back in time with this turn of the century Rye.
