We have been huge fans of Laws Whiskey House in Denver for some time now and are elated with the opportunity to have selected a single barrel of their Four Grain Bourbon.
Bottled cask strength at a notch over 112 proof, this wheated bourbon is 60% corn, 20% wheat, 10% rye, and 10% malted barley. Laws exclusively uses heirloom varietal grains for their whiskey, sourced between two family-owned Colorado farms: the Cody’s in the San Luis Valley and the Ohnmacht’s out on Colorado’s eastern plains.
This barrel is an exceptional singular representation of their Four Grain Straight Bourbon that showcases notes of orange peel, black tea, honey, cinnamon, sherry, malted chocolate balls, pressed apples, and leather.
