Luce Della Vite

2016 Vintage- Luce is the first wine to be obtained from a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot from the land of Brunello di Montalcino. It is the result of a collaboration between the Marchesi de ’Frescobaldi and Robert Mondavi families, the fruit of wanting to combine the typical softness of Merlot with the structure and elegance of Sangiovese. Since 2002 the property has passed to Lamberto Frescobaldi, who continues to produce this Super Tuscan that is enjoyed all over the world, combining the tradition of Sangiovese with the innovation of Merlot. A deep, ruby ​​red, the nose is intense and complex; the fruit compote, sour cherries, plum and blackberry cede to slightly spicy, balsamic and aromatic herbal notes. The second nose gives us tertiary perfumes such as liquorice, vanilla and leather. In the mouth it is enveloping and well-structured, with smooth tannins that reveal a beautiful, articulated and warm texture. The fruity persistence of Merlot is remarkable and does not overwhelm, thanks to the structure offered by Sangiovese.
