2020 Vintage- Named after the striking Podalirio species of butterflies (also known as the Swallowtail), our single-varietal Merlot made its introduction to our range of wines back in late 90s. This is a terroir-driven Merlot that surely gets more beautiful with age.
An intelligent and refreshing Merlot, somewhat out of the ordinary yet classically smooth and easy drinking. The tannins feel active and firm and hold tightly onto the opulent black fruit creating shape and balance. Acidity is taut and contributes a sensation of lightness and lift. An excellent match for roasted vegetables, gamey meats and dishes using sweet spices.
