Destilería El Bagazo is the most unique tequila being produced in Jalisco spearheading a remarkable production model that recycles spent bagazo for not only firing the steam oven, but also to heat the pot stills. Then, they recycle more bagazo into cork stoppers and the paper for the label.  El Bagazo Único Tequila Blanco is an unaged, artisanal, and high-proof tequila crafted by maestro tequilero Esteban Morales. It is produced at the very first tequila distillery in the mountain town of Mascota, Jalisco (Sierra Occidental region) under NOM 1677.
While El Bagazo's standard Blanco is locked at a traditional 42% ABV, the Único line serves as their experimental playground. Each batch is distinct and bottled at a much higher strength—typically between 46.6% to 49.2% ABV—to showcase the most robust elements of the distillate.
A major defining feature of this tequila is its highly sustainable, closed-loop production process. The leftover agave fibers (bagazo) are compressed into biomass briquettes to fuel the brick ovens and stills. Furthermore, the bottles are made from 100% recycled glass, and the labels and bottle stoppers are made by blending recycled paper and agave fibers.
