American Pale Ale | 5.3% abv
The arrival of *spooky szn* comes with another bounty: hop harvest. It’s a brief window of time each year, and it presents an opportunity to work with freshly picked, un-kilned (aka “wet”) hops—as long as you can get your hands on them.
This year marks the return of Harvest Pale Ale, and this time we worked with Crosby Hops (OR) to secure Oregon-grown Amarillo. The hops were picked and processed in the AM, flash-frozen, packaged and shipped overnight to our doorstep, and then added in the dry-hop stage to preserve as many of the delicate characteristics as possible. It’s these delicate characteristics that give wet hops their je ne sais quoi.
Expect notes of fresh cut flowers, green grass and grapefruit citrus, followed by a zippy cracker malt profile and a drying, bitter finish. At 5.3% you can rip a couple two tree, no prob.
