2018 Vintage- This 2018 Shiraz from Barossa Valley's Schild Estate is a dark ruby, purple colour with prominent, but controlled aromas of blood plums, mulberries and brambly hedge row fruit. Supported by fainter hints of dark chocolate and subtle pepper spice. In the mouth the same primary plum and mulberry notes show early. These dark fruit flavours persist and roll in waves out through the back of the palate, always with a clear line of travel in mind and bordered by a fine, but ever present tannin frame.

Raspberries and blackberries abound on the nose of the 2018 Shiraz, a much more attractive offering than the somewhat stolid 2017. Bouncy and fresh, it's medium to full-bodied, with some silky tannins to provide a bit of grip and length on the finish.
