This alluring 15 year Rye is a new spin on barrel finishing for the Whistlepig team. 100% Canadian rye is aged 15 years in ex-bourbon casks and then finished in barrels made from new charred Vermont white oak. Vermont's long, cold winters help create an oak that's more tightly grained than that from the Ozarks and other, warmer climates. The resulting golden elixir is nothing short of sensational: with notes of butterscotch and a Heath-bar like toffee/cocoa quality on the entry, and a spiced finish that is smooth as silk.
