2016 Vintage- Viña Pedrosa Gran Reserva is a barrel-aged red wine made with the Tinta del País variety in the D.O. Ribera de Duero (Castilla y León) by Bodegas Hermanos Pérez Pascuas.

Brothers Benjamín, Manuel and Adolfo Pérez Pascuas started this project in 1980 when their father Mauro left them the vineyards that he worked throughout his life in the town of Pedrosa de Duero (Burgos), a town with a long winemaking history and located within the D.O. Ribera del Duero. They have over 150 hectares of vines planted in exceptional plots that are perfect for making their own high quality wines.

Viña Pedrosa Gran Reserva comes from old vines aged over 60 years old and planted in clay-calcareous soils at an altitude of 840 metres above sea level. Traditional agriculture is used and the yield is limited to 3,500 kilos per hectare. The harvest of selected strains is carried out manually.

In the winery, Viña Pedrosa Gran Reserva follows a traditional winemaking process with maceration and fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Then the wine spends 24 months in French and American oak barrels.

Viña Pedrosa Gran Reserva is a good example of a ‘Gran Reserva’ from Ribera de Duero. A tasty, opulent and structured wine where the 14% alcohol is very well integrated.
