2017 Vintage- The Corliss family owns two premier Washington State wineries. Corliss is located in the Red Mountain AVA and focuses on Cabernet Sauvignon and Bordeaux varietals. Tranche is in the Blue Mountains and does mainly Rhone blends. The owners are VERY particular and selective of which barrels go into their flagship wines, especially at Corliss where the focus is on making very long-lived Cab blends. Barrels that are too full of fruit, soft and supple for the big wines are blended after 14+ months in new and a little used French oak.
In 2017, this is now 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aromas of ripe red and blackcurrant, blackberries, sage, and coffee invite you to take a sip. The flavors are bold, dark and intense with powerful notes of blackberry, black currant and dark plum accented by notes of tobacco, mocha and spice. Finishes firm and long - just right for pairing with a nice grilled steak!
